Year 6 learners were left inspired and motivated by ex-pupil Jordan Jarrett Bryan when he visited St Luke's. His talk about his journey to become a well-known award winning journalist and sports reporter for Channel 4 News and TalkSport, covering a range of major sports. Jordan has many achievements including being the founder of Blakademik Media.
Jordan spoke to our learners about his prosthetic leg, after his leg was amputated as he was born without the fibula bone in his right leg, as well as a deformed right foot and how difficult it was as a teenager. He also spoke about his determination not to allow his disability to stop him achieving his goal of playing Wheelchair Basketball.
Youth culture is important to Jordan especially regarding issues around employment and education. We are looking forward to seeing Jordan again when he will lead a workshop at the school.
